美白有効成分とは？

美白有効成分とは、医薬部外品（薬用化粧品）に含まれる成分のうち「日焼けによるシミ・そばかすを防ぐ」または
「メラニンの生成を抑えてシミ・そばかすを防ぐ」などの有効性が厚生労働省に承認されている成分をいいます。
シミやそばかすの元になるのは、メラノサイト（色素細胞）でつくられる褐色のメラニン色素です。紫外線を浴びるとメラノサイトに
「メラニンを生成せよ！」という指令が出て、メラニンが過剰につくられ、蓄積するとシミになっていきます。
シミができるまでには、いくつかのステップがあります。美白有効成分はシミ生成ステップのどこかで効果を発揮し、シミを防ぎます。

効果①メラニンの生成を抑制する

メラニンはもともと「チロシン」という無色のアミノ酸です。チロシンにチロシナーゼという酵素が働きかけて酸化すると、褐色のメラニンに変化します。チロシナーゼ酵素の活性を阻害してメラニンの過剰生成を抑え、シミ・そばかすを防ぐ

メラノサイトの活性化やチロシナーゼ酵素の産生を抑える働きがあるので、メラニンの生成を抑制してくれる

効果②メラニンを還元する

還元とは、酸化した物質から酸素がとれる化学反応をいいます。美白有効成分には、酸化によって褐色になったメラニンを還元（無色化）することで、シミを防ぐタイプがあります。できてしまったシミを完全に消し去るのは難しいですが、色が濃くなるのを防ぐのには効果的です。
